  • The 4th Revolution, Energy Autonomy

Renewable energies are the future. Energy lobbyists – depending on their camp – have differing opinions on which compromises are acceptable on the journey to this destination. And Carl Fechner’s perfectly staged documentary “The 4th Revolution, Energy Autonomy” also draws varying stances. And this, although Hermann Scheer, SPD-politician and winner of the Alternative Nobel Prize, builds a very strong plea for one hundred percent renewable energies through well-researched arguments. The revolutionary expedition travels across four continents and convinces viewers through encouraging projects. We hear from pioneers and visionaries such as Nobel Prize winner, Yunus, prominent environmental activists, innovative scientists and successful business owners such as Matthias Willenbacher as well as an engineer from Mali. Even Fatih Birol, the rather conventional and sceptically positioned top economist of the international energy conglomerate OECD, was able to use the film as a platform. However, the former OPEC lobbyist does not put his best foot forwards.
